2024 Membership Drive

July 1 begins the new year for the Beach Haven West Civic Association. That means the start of our annual membership drive. Current members are asked to renew their memberships online or through applications. We also have volunteers canvassing neighborhoods in an effort to sign up new members. Additional volunteers are needed. Pls RSVP via email here.

In addition to the scholarships, the BHWCA continues to be involved in research projects regarding water quality and issues pertaining to our waterways as they relate to the state/township resiliency plans (see the township’s website Resilient Stafford Action Plan). Members also regularly attend Township Council meetings to keep informed on matters important to BHW and Stafford.

We meet on the third Friday of each month at 7 pm in the Bay Avenue Community Center, when we offer guest speakers (such as the mayor and Township Council members, police, fire and first responder organizations, various department heads) who discuss local issues, as well as representatives of assorted disciplines we believe are of importance to our members.

We especially are proud of our speakers schedule for the rest of ’24 :

July/Marion Romano, a member and local realtor who annually updates the area real-estate picture

August/ George Chidiac, superintendent of Stafford School district to discuss the $75.6 million referendum to go before voters Sept. 17

September/School board candidates forum

October/Candidates forum for mayoral and council candidates.

Membership dues remain at $20 per household, and the Community Chest is available to anyone wishing to donate to our scholarship program and other community projects and organizations. We recently awarded three $1,000 scholarships to graduating senior at Southern Regional High School, and for the first time, presented a $1,000 award to a graduating senior at MATES.

In recent years, we have streamlined our membership-drive efforts, mainly for two reasons:

Costs (the price of stamps is going up again!) and manpower. We have found that through the use of technology – specifically, emails to members and a digital process on our website (www.bhwca.com), members enjoy an easier way to renew and we save money, time and materials.

We hope you find our membership-renewal process easy to complete. If you download the attached, pls mail it to BHWCA, PO Box 57, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. The digital process is on www.bhwca.com

Questions? Please submit via response to this email. Thank you for your support.
